Overview
editENA is a major public institution for the education of architecture in Morocco. It is supervised by the Ministry Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Housing and Urbanism. Since its establishment in 1980 in Rabat, ENA has trained over 1700 architects across the country.
The number of students at ENA has doubled since its inception. Given the real need for architects to contribute to development projects across Morocco, ENA has undertaken the creation of three new sites. Branches in Fes and Tetouan were established in 2009, while the branch in Marrakech was launched in 2011 and the branch in Agadir in 2016.
ENA's missions include education, research, dissemination of architectural culture, conducting studies for public administrations, and awarding degrees in architecture, including the Doctorate and the Advanced Studies Diploma (DESA).
The school is located on the Madinat Al Irfane university campus, covering an area of approximately 1.6 hectares with a built area of 20,000 m2.
Academic program
editENA's curriculum is spread over 12 semesters, including mandatory and optional subjects. The education is divided into modules across various disciplines:
- Theory and practice of the project
- Urbanism and urban sciences
- Representation and plastic expression
- Scientific and technical education
- Human and social sciences
- Language education
Continuing education
editIn response to technological, regulatory, economic, and social changes that affect the architectural profession daily, ENA offers continuing education to enhance the skills of professionals. The continuing education department conducts various training programs. In 2010, a university diploma in urban renewal and city policies in Morocco was launched in partnership with the University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée.
Postgraduate programs
editENA offers specialized postgraduate programs:
- A Doctorate and DESA within the UFR: "Habitat, Architecture, and Urbanization of Territories"; the DESA program lasts two years.
