Production
editRecorded at Home Depot Studios, in Nashville, the album was produced by R.S. Field.[4][1] Snider wrote 30 songs for New Connection.[5] He delegated most of the music to his producer and the musicians.[6] Kim Richey provided backing vocals.[7] Will Kimbrough played guitar.[8]
"Crooked Piece of Time" was written by John Prine, who duetted with Snider.[9][10] "Waco Moon" is a tribute to Eddy Shaver.[11] "Vinyl Records" is about Snider's ever-expanding music collection.[12] "Rose City" was inspired by Snider's Portland childhood.[13] "Close Enough to You" and "Easy" are love songs.[14]
