History
editThe station opened on 1 July 1908 as Noshiromachi Station (能代駅).[1] It was renamed Noshiro Station on 1 November 1909.[1] With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR East.[1]
