Sakamoto has won seven ITF Futures singles tournaments and fifteen ITF Futures doubles tournaments. He also won a ATP tournament in doubles in January 2024 alongside compatriot João Fonseca in Argentina.

Sakamoto made his ATP main draw debut at the 2019 Brasil Open, where he qualified for the main draw defeating Matteo Donati and Carlos Berlocq.[1][2]
