History
editConstruction of Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital was started by the Ministry of Interior on 23 January 1950. The hospital was constructed land previously used as a base of operations by the Imperial Japanese Army, during the construction of the Burma Railway.[2] The area was cleared of explosives and five buildings were completed and opened to the public on 3 May 1953. The hospital was named in commemoration of Phraya Phahonphonpayuhasena, the second prime minister of Thailand.[3]
