Philippe Jamet (born 12 May 1961) is a French engineer and professor, member of the Academy of Technologies.[1] Director general of the Institut Mines-Télécom from July 15, 2014 to the 1st of September 2019, he is honorary president of the Conférence des Grandes écoles.

Biography

Philippe Jamet was born in Rennes on May 12, 1961. He graduated in Civil Mining Engineer (class of 1981) and doctor in quantitative hydrology and hydrogeology (1991) from the École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris (now Mines Paris - PSL). In 1999, he obtained an habilitation in environmental sciences at Pierre and Marie Curie University.

From September 2008 to July 2014, he was director of the École nationale supérieure des mines de Saint-Étienne[2] and from June 2013 till June 2015 President of the Conférence des Grandes écoles.[3]

In the same time, he is director of the Institut Mines-Télécom.[4] Then he is Dean of the Paris School of Business From July 2014 till January 2024. The 15th of February 2024, he is appointed Director General of IONIS Education Group, replacing Yves Poilane.[5]
