- 15 February: Al Gore has announced plans for Live Earth concerts across seven continents in July 2007 to raise awareness of global warming.[1]
- 9 February: Record company EMI is considering selling MP3s without DRM protection, according to multiple sources. The possibility of the move soon being announced follows an open letter by Steve Jobs of Apple Inc. (makers of the iTunes Store) against DRM. [2] [3]
- 8 February: Film composer John Williams has celebrated his 75th birthday. The composer has received 45 Academy Award nominations, and is running for four more Grammy Awards.[4]
- 5 February: Record company Apple Corps founded by The Beatles has reached an agreement with computer company Apple Inc. over the use of the name 'Apple'. Apple Inc. will now control the name and license trademarks back to Apple Corps.[5]
