Ok I think that we should use flags to indicate where the stories are coming from. It adds a nice atmosphere to the page and it let's viewers know immediately where the location of the events are. Look at the UFC pages with the flags next to the names. If you delete the flags from those pages it kinda looks boring and unappealing. People say its distracting but I see no distracting features about the flags. It just adds a nice color splash to a bleak & white page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 15bucket (talk • contribs) 21:25, 11 December 2011
One reason for not using flags is that many people do not regard them as a "nice color splash" for as something to fight and die for. Have a look at the history of Wikipedia:WikiProject Libya since the start of this year (link). A good proportion of the edits there are switching the page from Libyan flag to the other. -- John of Reading (talk) 21:37, 11 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well I don't agree with it but I will respect the editors that have changed it and I will stop. But I will continue to update the current events page and help it out as much as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 15bucket (talk • contribs) 21:52, 11 December 2011
