Selected articles are typically high-quality articles on some aspect of heraldry or vexillology, to showcase the content Wikipedia has on this topic.
If you have a suggestion for the next Selected article for the Heraldry and Vexillology Portal feel free to list it below. A selected article should not have been previously selected, and should ideally have an
from WP:HV.
The selected article is queued through Portal:Heraldry/Selected article and appears for about a month.
Steps to update
edit- Determine whether the page is an Article (A), Biography (B), Coat of arms (C), or Flag (F)
- If it's a biography, look for highest numbered page here with a "B" at the end. If that is Portal:Heraldry/Selected article/B/16, create a new summary at Portal:Heraldry/Selected article/B/17.
- Update Portal:Heraldry/Selected article to include {{Portal:Heraldry/Selected article form|B/17}} for some month.
- After that month has passed, change the random selections for subpage B in two places in Portal:Heraldry/Selected article so that
max=17
- Update the article talk page so the WP:HV template has
portal=Month Year
, or if appropriate useportalbio=
- Add the tranclusion for {{Portal:Heraldry/Selected article/B/17}} to the article (or bio) archive with the Month Year as the section header
The selected article will remain for about a month, after which it will automatically be replaced by an article of the day if a new selected article is not chosen. The random articles are selected so that if there are two random "articles of the day", they will be from different classes of articles, and so different articles. For instance, two flag articles will not appear randomly at the same time. A random flag article may appear with a selected (non-random) flag, but if the max
has been set appropriately, these articles will not be the same.
