Synthesis
editThe compound can be prepared by reacting K2ReI6 with potassium fluoride, hydrogen iodide mixture.[3]
Also it can be formed by reacting K2ReI6 or K2ReCl6 with KHF2.[4]
Physical properties
editThe compound forms pale pink crystals of the trigonal system, space group P3m1.[5][1] The crystals are of K2GeF6-type.[6]
