Preston Township is located in Richland County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,247 and it contained 635 housing units.[2] Before May 2, 1859, this locale was known as Douglas Township.[3]: Township Names

editAccording to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 41.53 square miles (107.6 km2), of which 40.73 square miles (105.5 km2) (or 98.07%) is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2) (or 1.93%) is water.[2]
