A private members' bill in the Northern Ireland Assembly is a type of bill that can be introduced by members of the Northern Ireland. Less parliamentary time is given to such bills and as a result only a minority of members' bills actually become law.[1] Such bills can be used however to create publicity for a cause or issue and can affect legislation indirectly.

Bills that are introduced by an individual MLA are also known as a Private Member's Bill. Private Member's Bills offer individual Members the chance to introduce legislation independently from the Executive departments.
