RAK Porcelain is a porcelain tableware manufacturer based in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of RAK Ceramics. It manufactures tableware.[1][2] In June 2024, RAK Ceramics completed the acquisition of full ownership of RAK Porcelain.[3][4]
History
[edit]RAK Porcelain began production in 2005. Early clients included the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis, The Palm.[2] RAK Porcelain Europe S.A. was incorporated in Luxembourg in 2005,[5] and RAK Porcelain USA, headquartered in New York City, opened in December 2015.[6] RAK Ceramics, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, acquired RAK Porcelain in June 2024.[3]
Operations
[edit]The main manufacturing facility is in Ras Al Khaimah. European operations are based in Luxembourg, with a warehouse and showroom in Bettembourg opened in 2017.[7] US distribution is handled from Imperial, Pennsylvania.[8][9] In 2024, it opened its first retail showroom, in Dubai Hills Mall.[10][11]
In October 2025, the group acquired Bankook Design Chambre, S.L., owner of the Spanish tableware brand Cookplay.[12]
Products
[edit]Products are made from high-alumina porcelain for the hotel, restaurant, retail, and airline sectors.[13] The company has worked with independent designers including Alain Vavro, Mikaëla Dörfel, and Robin Levien.[2] In 2019, its "HIDE" range, designed by Gemma Bernal, received a Red Dot Award Product Design.[14]
In 2026, the "Feelings" collection, received a further Red Dot Award Product Design.[15]
Partnerships
[edit]RAK Porcelain has partnered with the IKA/Culinary Olympics from 2012 to 2024,[16] and in March 2025 became exclusive tableware partner of the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg.[17]
