History
editRedhill station opened in 1925 when the railway line from Long Plains reached it in 1925.[1] It was later extended Port Pirie in 1937. In the latter year, the Commonwealth Railways extended its standard gauge Trans-Australian Railway line from Port Augusta south to Port Pirie.[2] The line was converted from 1600 mm (5 ft 3 in) broad gauge to 1435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) standard gauge in 1982.[3]: 1‑648
Closure
editRegular passenger services to Port Pirie ceased in the early 1980s.[3]: 1‑644 The disused railway station and old platform still remain to this day.[4]
