Rui Xu (born 1989 in Switzerland)[2] is an American politician. He is a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives for the 25th district. He is the first Chinese American to serve in the Kansas Legislature as well as the only naturalized citizen and the only Asian American currently serving.

Political career
editRui was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives for the first time in 2018, defeating incumbent Melissa Rooker with 50.5% of the vote.[3] In 2020 and 2022, he ran unopposed and was re-elected.
