RussoRosso (a pun referring to the film Deep Red) is a Russian online media outlet dedicated to horror films and thrillers. Founded in 2016.[3][4]

History
editIn 2016, the publication was founded by film producer Vladislav Severtsev and his colleagues from the 10/09 film studio, which specializes in horror films. One of the founders was Russian sociologist and film critic Denis Saltykov, who was also the author and editor-in-chief of the site.
In 2018, the publication joined the Horror Web media network, which unites such publications as Darker, HorrorZone.ru and some others.[5]
In 2019, the site launched a podcast in which the authors of the publication discussed horror films, thrillers and mysticism. In the pilot episode of the podcast, the authors of the site discussed the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel Pet Sematary.[6] The last episode of the podcast (an episode about the film The Rental by Dave Franco) was released on October 11, 2020.
On October 7, 2021, Denis Saltykov died due to cancer.[7][8] In his memory, an obituary from the current editorial board and authors of the site was published on the site.[9]
On February 24, 2022, the publication announced a temporary suspension of publication of materials in connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine.[10] On March 7, the publication resumed publication of materials.
