The Samsung Galaxy A12 was not available in the United States until April 2021.[2][3] The model of the Samsung Galaxy A12 that was made available in the U.S. had 3 GB RAM and a 16 MP main camera, rather than the 48 MP camera found in newer models.

In Europe, Samsung launched the Galaxy A12 at €179 for the 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage variant, and €199 for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant.[4]

Samsung launched the Galaxy A12 in India on February 16, 2021, at a price of Rs.12,999 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant, while the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant was priced at Rs.13,999. On August 12, 2021, Samsung relaunched the phone with the Exynos 850 SoC in India.[5][6] This variant could be purchased in 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage configurations. The 4 GB RAM model cost Rs. 13.999 and 6 GB RAM model cost Rs. 16.499, respectively.

In North America, Samsung launched the Galaxy A12 April 2021 for the price of US$180 for the 4 GB + 64 GB internal storage model, while in other countries like Canada selling the 3 GB + 32 GB for C$220. It also comes with the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset.

On August 9, 2021, a new variant of the phone called the Samsung Galaxy A12 Nacho was announced. This variant of the phone is powered by Samsung's in-house Exynos 850[7] SoC with an octa-core CPU and 8nm process instead of the previous MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, in addition to the operating system being updated to Android 11.[8][9] Aside from these differences, both the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A12 Nacho have very similar specifications, where the Nacho variant supports both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi protocols, whilst the prior model supported only 2.4Ghz.[10]
