History

SP Jain School of Global Management is part of the SP Jain Group, named in honour of the late Shreyans Prasad Jain (1908–1992), a visionary industrialist, philanthropist, and parliamentarian who played a significant role in the Indian independence movement. Known for his dedication to education, Shreyans established numerous schools and educational institutions throughout India, fostering a legacy of learning and development.

Embracing his grandfather’s commitment to education, Nitish Jain launched SP Jain School of Global Management in Dubai in 2004 with a founding philosophy: “if business is global, business schools should also be global.” SP Jain Global expanded its reach by opening additional campuses in Singapore in 2006 and Sydney in 2012. The school is known for its distinctive multi-city programs designed to develop highly skilled leaders equipped with a global outlook.

Administration

SP Jain's Academic Board is chaired by Dr. John Loxton, Professor and Senior Academic Advisory at the University of Western Sydney. The board has the Deans and Heads of the Dubai and Singapore campuses as members.

The school's administration also includes an Examination Board for examination and assessment procedures, and an Industry Advisory Board with businesspeople from Dubai, Singapore, and Sydney. According to the business school's website, the Industry Advisory Board "makes curriculum suggestions, shares their knowledge through guest talks and recommends colleagues to conduct workshops".

Dubai Campus

SP Jain Global's Dubai campus is located in the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), a city that was purpose-built for colleges and universities. The campus occupies a stand-alone building covering approximately 60,000 square feet, spread over three floors. It includes learning centers, mock trading rooms, a library, video conferencing facility, and a Reuters terminal.

Singapore Campus

The SP Jain Global campus in Singapore is located along the historic Hyderabad Road, an area known for its colonial-era buildings and lush greenery.

SP Jain Global’s Singapore campus is steeped in a rich history that dates back to 1935. Originally constructed to accommodate British military officers, during the early 1940s, the property was purchased by the Nizam of Hyderabad, one of the wealthiest and most powerful rulers in the region. It is said that the building served as the Nizam’s summer vacation mansion.

In 2005, on invitation of the government of Singapore in 2005, SP Jain Global established its Singapore campus on this historic site. The campus, situated in the heart of Singapore, features state-of-the-art facilities that promote an engaging and innovative learning environment. Its contemporary design and student-centric learning spaces encourages collaboration and interaction, essential for developing leadership and entrepreneurial skills. The central urban location also provides students with numerous opportunities to engage with multinational corporations and startups, enhancing their practical learning experience through internships and industry projects.

Sydney Campus

The SP Jain Global campus in Sydney is located near the Sydney Olympic Park, the site of the 2000 Olympic Games.

Originally situated in the Sydney Olympic Park, a site renowned for hosting the 2000 Olympic Games, the SP Jain Global Sydney campus has since relocated to 15 Carter Street in Lidcombe, near the Sydney Olympic Park.

The new campus occupies a building spanning 6,000 square meters over three floors and is home to state-of-the-art learning facilities including classrooms, high-tech laboratories, common areas and large open spaces.

Multi-city Learning Model

SP Jain Global uses a multi-city learning model as a key component of its full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This model is designed to provide students with direct exposure to various global business environments and cultures by allowing them to study in multiple campuses located in Singapore, Sydney and Dubai throughout their academic program.

The model is structured so that students begin their studies in one city and then rotate among the other campuses. This rotation varies depending on the specific program and course requirements but typically includes at least two to three different cities. Each campus offers a curriculum tailored to its regional business ecosystem, thereby providing students with a diverse and comprehensive understanding of global business practices.

In each location, students engage with local businesses through internships and projects, participate in workshops, and attend lectures with professionals from various industries. Engaged Learning Online

SP Jain Global's award-winning ELO technology enables faculty to gesture, walk around and make eye contact with students, even in a class of 70.

Engaged Learning Online (ELO) is an educational technology platform developed by SP Jain Global to facilitate interactive and immersive online learning. This platform is designed to replicate the dynamics of a classroom environment for remote learners.

ELO utilizes a blend of live streaming, high-definition video conferencing, and real-time interaction tools that allow students to participate in live classes, interact with professors and peers, and engage in group discussions as if they were physically present in the classroom. Central to the technology is a physical studio called the ELO Room, from where professors physically conduct their classes. The ELO Room has 20 large-screen TV monitors set up in an arc. As students log in, professors get a view of them sitting as though in the first row of the class. The ELO Room is set up with a robotic tracking camera that allows the professors to move freely, maintain eye contact with students, respond to their visual cues, moderate discussions, and more.

Since its inception, ELO has been integral to SP Jain Global's adaptation to the increasing demand for flexible, high-quality online education. It has enabled the school to maintain continuity of learning in disruptive circumstances, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has proven to be a valuable asset in expanding the school's global footprint.

In 2022, the ELO platform won an award in the category of 'Innovative Technology Solutions for Higher Education Provider' at the BW Education’s Top Education Brand Awards⁣, organized by BW Business World.

360° Immersion Room

The 360° Immersion Room is equipped with surround sound systems and high-resolution screens that cover the walls, creating a 360-degree visual field.

In 2023, SP Jain Global introduced at its campuses, a 360-degree immersion room, designed to enhance the educational experience by providing a highly interactive and immersive learning environment. This advanced facility is part of the school's commitment to incorporating innovative technology in its teaching methods.

SP Jain London School of Management

Located in Canary Wharf, a major financial district of London, the SP Jain London campus places students in the heart of global financial and business activities.

SP Jain London School of Management (SP Jain London) is a sister institution to SP Jain Global. It was inaugurated in 2023 by Lord Jo Johnson, former Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research, and Innovation. Located in Canary Wharf, a major financial district of London, the campus places students in the heart of global financial and business activities. SP Jain London has the distinction of being the first school of Indian origin to receive degree awarding rights in the UK.

SP Jain London offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs that focus on international business, finance, and technology innovations. An articulation agreement between SP Jain London and SP Jain Global enables students to study across the campuses of both institutions.
