After winning the Stars of Science competition, Qasem was appointed as the president of the Invention Development Department at Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, which is affiliated with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. He resigned from his position after 7 years to focus on his company, Prototec which specializes in project management.[6][12]
