Santo Stefano al Mare (Ligurian: San Stéva[3]) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Imperia in the Italian region Liguria, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) southwest of Imperia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,260 and an area of 2.7 square kilometres (1.0 sq mi).[4]

Geography
editThe town can be found on the Riviera of Ponente, at around eight miles (13 km) from the chief town of Genova. Its strategic placement helps to maintain a mild climate throughout the year, with temperatures rarely reaching the 0° in winter and overcoming the 30° in summer.
