Shanghai Xingzhi High School (Chinese: 上海市行知中学) formerly known as Yucai School, was founded in Chongqing in 1939 by the great educator of the people, Mr. Tao Xingzhi, who personally served as the first principal. In 1978, the school was approved by the Shanghai Municipal Education Bureau as one of the 26 key high schools in the city. In 2005, the school was listed by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission as one of the first 28 experimental and model high schools in Shanghai.
