Gameplay
editFormat
editPresented with a group of nine "mystery singers", a guest artist and a group of two contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of several rounds.[a] At the end of a game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.
The contestants must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving a designated cash value based on the most bad singer eliminations.[a] At the end of a game, the contestants may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win €20,000 by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad.
Rounds
editVisual round
edit- First impression (French: Première impression)
- s2: The guest artist and contestants are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
Lip sync rounds
editEach mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song; good singers mime to a recording of their own, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else. At the conclusion of performances, the contestants eliminate one mystery singer from each group.
- Playback (French: Relecture)
- s1–2: Divided into multiple batches of mystery singers,[a] each of them have to perform a lip sync of their own.
- Concealed vocals (French: Cachez la voix)
- s1–2: The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.
Evidence round
edit- Exhibit (French: Pièce à conviction)
- s1–2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers of their choice.
Talent round
edit- Acting (French: La performance)
- s1: The guest artist and contestants must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. This may not be related to the "stage of truth", but depends on their identity.
Rehearsal round
edit- Secret studio (French: Studio secret)
- s2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.
Interrogation round
edit- Interview (French: L'interview)
- s1–2: The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.
Background
editProduction and development
editShine Group has initially made interest to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in France, as per earlier report from Toute la Télé in September 2015.[5] After a six-year hiatus, Groupe M6 has formally acquired the rights in February 2021,[6] including with production duties assigned by Warner Bros. International Television Production.[7]
Filming
editFilming of the show took place at Studio 128 in Saint-Denis, Paris.[8] During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has filmed under implementing health and safety protocols.[9]
Broadcast history
editShow Me Your Voice debuted as a two-night pilot premiere that occasionally aired on 22 April and 13 May 2021.[1][2] As per tweet by journalist Clément Garin in April 2024,[10] the series has formally announced to return after a three-year hiatus[11] with a second season that premiered on 8 July 2024, but it was prematurely ended a week later.[c]

- The number of rounds are set to five (for the 1st season) or six (for the 2nd season).
- For the lip sync round, the number of mystery singer batches in the Playback segment are set to three groups of three (for the 1st season) or two groups of four (for the 2nd season).
- For the 2nd season, a "safe haven" variant was conducted, in which contestants having the most bad singers eliminated receive a designated cash value, from a minimum of €1,000 to a maximum of €10,000 (if there are more than 6 bad singers).
- The number of rounds are set to five (for the 1st season) or six (for the 2nd season).
- ^ a b c For the show's overall reception:
- ^ The 2nd season was initially scheduled to air for 4 episodes.[4][12] However, poor reception[b] forced the show to end the season immediately, with remaining 2 episodes (featuring guest artists Sheryfa Luna and Anne Sila) went unaired.
- ^ a b This refers to the guest artist(s) that have played in according only to their first game(s); returning guest artists (which also include foreigners or former good singers, with their names displaying in italics) did not count.
