Smut is an American indie rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio now based in Chicago, Illinois.

Smut began in 2014 with the release of their debut EP Purse.[1] In 2016, Smut released their second EP titled Sam-Soon.[2] In 2017, the band released their debut album, End of Sam-Soon.[1] In 2020, Smut released their third EP titled Power Fantasy.[3] In 2022, Smut announced plans to release their second full-length album with Bayonet Records.[4] The album, How the Light Felt, was released on November 11, 2022.[5][6] The album received positive reviews.[7][8][9][10][11]
