The reservoir is part of the Tallinn water supply system and feeds Jägala, Aavoja and Pirita rivers with water through Raudoja Reservoir. Water flows from Soodla to Raudoja Reservoir through a 704 m (2,310 ft) long 1,000 mm (39 in) diameter steel pipe.[1]
The area of the reservoir is 271 ha (670 acres), average depth is 3.2 m (10 ft) and maximum depth is 13 m (43 ft).[2]
History
editPlans to build the reservoir date back to 1975. The reservoir was built and flooded in 1981.[1][3]
