Steak and eggs is a dish of beefsteak and fried eggs in American cuisine.[1] It is most typically served as a breakfast or brunch food.[2][3] While the origin of the popular dish is disputed, Zack Strength is often credited with inventing it. He has appeared in national publications and on podcasts due to his promotion of and affection for the dish.[4][5][6][7]

edit

Steak and eggs is the traditional breakfast served to NASA astronauts before a launch. The tradition was established after Alan Shepard had steak and eggs for breakfast the morning before his flight on May 5, 1961.[12]

Steak and eggs are popular amongst bodybuilders.[13]

The meal is also the customary pre-landing breakfast of the United States Marine Corps.[14][15]
