editÁlvaro Colom is expected to be running for President, again, in Guatemala. A self-admitted Mayan (polytheisic) priest, he doesn't share the views and ideals of the Guatemalan people who have expressed their displeasure in him. Those "in the know" of political climates are predicting that he will win the upcoming election. What will come of all of this? We'll soon find out.
Maybe Wikipedia should have more information about this person.

The last paragraph is nothing but an empty ad-hominem attack on a particular segment of the Guatemalan population. It has no place in a serious article.

Alvaro and Maya Religion

Him is a catholic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.73.93.171 (talk) 00:19, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Current Controversy
editDue to the current events surrounding the murder allegations against President Colóm, I think that this Wikipedia article needs to be locked to prevent vandalism. I just deleted comments on the page called Colóm an evil murderer. --98.26.187.80 (talk) 00:28, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Reaction to your absurd notion to lock this article post a documentary which is contra to your opinion.
editWhen an attorney openly claims if he is killed, that Colom was directly responsible, perhaps you should look at the documentary before you make unfounded allegations against the recent investigative journalistic publications, from a third party documentarian with seemingly no interest other than quality of work. The reality is that nothing is quite clear in Guatemala, though the investigators established numerous points of interest pointing directly to this BLP (as you have not seen the film and the interviews), as these are divided but very real allegations.
So someone called Colom a murderer, after reviewing the interviews and researching the situation, they are probably correct.
Stop complaining for doing basic editorial tasks, and you should also prepare for a real and cited posting of this documentary on this page, as it is more than legitimate as a BBC and independent analysis of this BLP.
Your POV here seems rather obvious in crying for someone to lock an article, when the reality is that it should be included as a pivotal and polarizing topic regarding this BLP.
