Poor quality
editIt's no pleasure to find articles like this on WP. ---rpd (talk) 21:44, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Removed
editRemoved from Resources: * Encyclopedia of Impressionists (EDIATA-Lausanne) 1992. ISBN 2-88001-289-9 - Probably a reliable source, but no reference to page etc. I don't have this book at hand - who has and wants to may supply a valid reference. --rpd (talk) 21:55, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Removed invalid reference to Welsh-Oucharov (!), B. Vincent Van Gogh and the Birth of Colisonism (!). Amsterdam. 1980. - no page indicated, and not traceable in the volume! Please re-insert, if you are happy enough the find the source. --rpd (talk) 22:28, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- A common spelling of the author's name is Bogomila Welsh-Ovcharov, not Oucharov as was in the article ... the exhibition it was a guide to was in 1981 I believe, but the pulication date might well be 1980. I don't have the book and can't help with the reference. Stumps (talk) 02:11, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
External link to Painted with Words online exhibition
editPlease consider adding an external link to the Painted with Words online exhibition page. This includes images and translations of 19 letters by van Gogh to Emille Bernard in The Morgan Library & Museum's collection:

- We will be pleased to do so. There's only not much traffic on this site ;)
- Besides, anybody could have added such valuable link ;) [w.] 15:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Working version
editHe, being reluctant to make major changes on this article (which should be done), by-and-by, I now created User_talk:W./Bernard. Contributions would be welcome, and, at a later time, improvement on my "less than perfect ;)" English, as well. [w.] 09:02, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Category:Alumni of the École des Beaux-Arts removed from main page
editTo my knowledge, Emile Bernard never was inscribed at the École des Beaux-Arts, but at the École des Arts-Décoratifs. --RPD (talk) 17:25, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Émile Bernard → Émile Bernard (painter) – There are two notable people by this name, and the creation of a disambiguation page at "Émile Bernard" was unduly reverted, despite Wikipedia convention of disambiguation pages in cases like this. XP-93 (talk) 13:51, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, the painter is far more notable than the composer, in terms of number of interwiki links (35 versus four) and page views (1,514 versus 60) alone. I say this as the creator of the composer's article (I only created it to provide a place for sound files of music by the composer). The painter is a moderately well-known Impressionist while the composer was an incredibly minor figure in French Romantic music ... several notches below the level of other contemporaries who are not well-known to the general public such as Vincent d'Indy and Emmanuel Chabrier. If it wasn't for me finding sound files of the composer's music, I would not be surprised if he wouldn't have had an article today. The painter is clearly the primary topic here. - Oppose per Graham87. Page views tell the story. Even the similarly named architect only gets five a day. The present non-descriptor title is proper for this subject. Randy Kryn (talk) 17:05, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- Support, in terms of overall notoriety without any specific interest groups the average person hasn’t heard of either of them, and if the link automatically leads to the painter it could create confusion. 20gz (talk) 07:36, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

editThe external link presumably to a painting called “Woman with Haystacks” is no longer available. I’m not going to remove it nor relocate it. Just FYI. Redhededkewty (talk) 06:13, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
