Fair use rationale for Image:ČeskoHledáSuperStar3.jpg
editImage:ČeskoHledáSuperStar3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
English gloss
editThe rarity of the term "Czechia" is discussed at Name of the Czech Republic. An IP editor appears to prefer this uncommon term in the gloss used in the article lede. Any case for using it should be substantiated on the talk page. Doremo (talk) 06:47, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
The correct translation of "Česko hledá SuperStar" is "Czechia Seeks the SuperStar". The word "Česko" directly translates to "Czechia" and the word "hledá" directly translates to "Seeks the". The word "Republic" does not appear in the title of the programme (it would be "Česka Republika hledá SuperStar" if it included the word "Republic" in it). In Czech, the word "Česko" or "Česka" refers to the land of Czechia irrespective of its political status, whereas the words "Česka Republika" refer to the political status of the state and its government. So, for example, the English name of the lands of Greece is "Greece" but the political name of the same state is "Hellenic Republic" and in the past it was "Kingdom of the Hellenes". It's wrong to use the political name to describe the land, especially when trying to translate the title of a television programme. Eleni Kaltsi (talk) 07:33, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- Seek consensus at Talk:Name of the Czech Republic for such changes. The work hledá does not mean 'seeks the'. Doremo (talk) 07:36, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- The correct translation of "Česko hledá SuperStar" is ""Czechia Seeks the SuperStar". If it were "Česka Republika hledá SuperStar" then the translation would be "Czech Republic Seeks the SuperStar". Hledá translates to "seeks the". Eleni Kaltsi (talk) 07:38, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- That is not correct. Seek consensus first at Talk:Name of the Czech Republic for your suggestion. Your "translation" of hleda is also incorrect; Czech verbs have no semantic feature of definiteness. Doremo (talk) 07:48, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
SuperStar Search Czechia
editI have not seen this translation used anywhere, not even in English translations and I was quite stumped what it meant when I saw this updated as the current official name. Again, as per above, Czechia is and has only been used to identify a loose translation to non-Czech languages. In the Wikipedia page, the translation succeeding the actual name (in Czech) was appropriate but never used as it's main reference. "Česko hledá SuperStar" has always been used as both an endonym and exonym in case of the topic itself. Also see: Star Search Croatia and SuperStar Search Slovakia, these two pages also are incorrectly referred to by an exonym that no sources use. 203.190.196.92 (talk) 04:05, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
