Funding

The Telegraph states the lecterns are ordered by CCHQ and then loaned to Number 10 [1], while The Guardian (quoting the Mirror) states CCHQ and Number 10 each purchase one [2]. My guess is that the Mirror got it wrong, but in any case both are contradictory. — jonas (talk) 21:24, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Sounds like there have been two. One paid for by the party/CCHQ and one from public funds, both identical so assume both ordered by the party? If the party-owned one is then leant to the office, both sources would be accurate in that case. Not clear exactly how long this arrangement has been in place, Truss' Jenga one at least. Deleted that line regardless, not particularly notable given we don't even know why there's a second one IMO. Orangeisacop (talk) 23:02, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Images

I think a balance needs to be struck with the images here between capturing the detail and shape of the lecterns. I'm leaning more towards picking images to show the full shape of the lecterns; simply presenting the tops of the lecterns alone quite literally doesn't give the full picture. A nice photo of a speech doesn't really do much for the article if it doesn't show as much of the lectern as possible, which is what this article is about.

The images should arguably also represent the full rage of use of the lecterns, so not just outside Number 10. There should probably always be one depicting a resignation, at least one depicting multiple in use at the same time, and so on. I understand that this isn't easy as we're limited to a small range of photos. JamJamSvn (talk) 10:59, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
