lineage
editthere are 3 pages of annexes that fold other units in and out of the primary unit. these units bring there own awards and credits with them. please do not delete these, if you dont understand, the convoluted way unit histories work. Brian in denver (talk) 13:39, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- WOW I guess some people are just as cluless as thay want to be. Look if you dont like what it says on the linage and honors certificate. write your congressman. Brian in denver (talk) 21:17, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- We are not the Center for Military History, and we don't have to mindlessly replicate everything the Army does. We are writing history, not the Army's mixed-up, convaluted, and ridiculous versions of lineage (who would really try to argue that an infantry brigade hq has some sort of connection to a separate reconnaissance troop, to cite just one example!) - Oh, and by the way, the nearest congressman to me is the delegate for American Samoa, and s/he is not my member of parliament. Who would you suggest I write to? Buckshot06 (talk) 20:46, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- I think that this page should acknowledge the official Army lineage, no matter how convoluted, and the fact that the Army recognizes two distinct regiments, with separate lineages. There should be a 157th Infantry Regiment article separate from this one, although the 157th Field Artillery Regiment started out as an infantry unit, and elements have converted from infantry to field artillery and back to field artillery, serving in both regiments.82redleg (talk) 02:33, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
Vandalism
editthis is why I stoped contributing to wiki. hours spent typing in lineages, only to have some cluless commie delete everything on some lame excuse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.118.81.38 (talk) 17:11, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
