- ... that even though Beyoncé's singles "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages" are country songs, an Oklahoma country station refused to play the former and faced backlash? Source: Entertainment Weekly
Created by ModulationBend (talk). Nominated by MaranoFan (talk) at 08:21, 15 February 2024 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Texas Hold 'Em (song); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Reviewing:
- Both articles were newly created on February 12. Both are several multiples of the required 1500 characters.
- Both songs are thoroughly sourced.
- Currently one article claims the song is a country song and the other article claims it is a ballad inspired by country music, which does not mesh with the hook that they are both country songs.
- The copyright violation check points to a lot of direct quotation with WP:ICs.
- QPQs done.
- Prose is neutral.
- Hook is interesting enough.
- Only one article has the hook facts and citations.
- Hook is properly formatted.

- Just wanted to clock in and say that I am in the process of fixing the issues, just keeping a bit busier than usual. Greets.--NØ 19:06, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Take your time. Just let me know when you are done.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 20:19, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- @TonyTheTiger: Okay, I've driven the copyvio score of both articles to a comfortable level according to Earwig. The "16 Carriages" article now explicitly describes the song as a country ballad. I don't think the hook fact belongs in that article unless artificially placed in, but from my understanding it is not a requirement for a hook to appear in both articles of a double nomination. Cheers.--NØ 17:18, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

@ModulationBend and MaranoFan: Hooks pulled from queue due to lack of response to concerns on WT:DYK. My concern is that the proposed hook did not state any facts about 16 Carriages: a hook featuring both songs should have a hook about both songs or these should be separated out. Z1720 (talk) 23:50, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Z1720 and Cielquiparle: I did love the previous hook due to the cultural significance but oh well... Check this out!
- ALT1: ... that Beyoncé released a country ballad and an uptempo country pop western song on the same day?
- Considering how long these pulled hooks take to attract a second reviewer, I would be immensely grateful if one of you could review/approve a new one.--NØ 12:11, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Approve ALT1. Perhaps sometimes simpler is just better. Thanks MaranoFan! Cielquiparle (talk) 12:16, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
Publication date
On spotify the release date appears in February 9, 2024. Although it was made available Feb. 11, isn't the date to be reevaluated? BeyPolite (talk) 09:06, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- @BeyPolite, that was the same date (February 9) on Apple Music. Although it wasn't available until the 11th, so we'll leave like that. If you're not sure, please ask other editors who are involved in WikiProject:Beyoncé, they can help you! — JuanGLP (talk/contribs) 14:16, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- It seems that the publication date for the song was change to February 11. — JuanGLP (talk/contribs) 13:58, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
Promotional single?
When did Beyoncé or Parkwood/Columbia ever call "16 Carriages" a "promotional single"? Kamo0606 (talk) 23:21, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- No they didn't so its been restored to single status. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 12:44, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
