editI have taken a lot of general articles in to begin writing this article. Have found the original government contracts for this article online and will start citing those original sources as I have time. If others want to beat me to it I'll tack on the website. Example, this one deals with the price paid for the rifles and how many should be ordered, and how many delivered in a bundle: <http://wardepartmentpapers.org/document.php?id=6117>. Other papers from the war department at <http://wardepartmentpapers.org/searchresults.php?searchClass=fulltextSearch&firstSearch=true&fulltextQuery=rifles%2C+harper%27s+ferry&submitSearchSimple=Search>, I searched for rifles, Harpers Ferry (because Lewis and Clark went to Harpers Ferry and there were rifles there for them to acquire for their trip.Jacqke (talk) 22:50, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Done for now
editI wrote this, and I know it isn't encyclopedic yet. I'm too close to having written it to edit it for now. If someone wants to start chopping on it great; otherwise I'll be back when I have been away long enough to detach myself.Jacqke (talk) 01:16, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
