This article needs work on it. Even the date of the election is unclear.--Toddy1 (talk) 11:17, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Elections used to be held over the course of a month. I don't know whether the dates are right, but it definitely wouldn't have been held in a single day. BillMasen (talk) 12:06, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Whatever the answer, it needs explaining properly, giving citations.--Toddy1 (talk) 12:40, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Secret Ballot

Was this the first general election under secret ballot ? Wizzy 10:06, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

No, it was the second in the UK - see United Kingdom general election, 1874 and secret ballot. Warofdreams talk 10:27, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

1880 Clubs

edit

For many decades afterwards, the Liberals used to have "1880 Clubs" celebrating their epic victory - fogotten now but once as celebrated as 1906 or 1945. Anyone got a cite to mention this?Paulturtle (talk) 23:46, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
