US Bias
editWhy is most of the Article dedicated to the United States, the Economics section in particular? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.89.162 (talk) 03:42, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- That's overall disproportionate focus or "lack of global perspective". It would only be bias if the content of individual entries was slanted. Presumably it reflects the interests of those who have edited the article in the past... AnonMoos (talk) 04:32, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
Summary
editFurthermore, this article seems to be a list of events that occurred under its auspices. I went to this page, rather reasonably, I think, looking for a summary of the decade, not just a list of events. In essence, it would be nice if the article discussed general trends. 68.81.218.76 (talk) 01:18, 25 May 2012 (UTC)Jacob
Why begin with "Wars"?
editWhy is "Politics and Wars" the first section? Why not start with "Popular Culture"? Seems a bit depressing to paint a decade by the various wars that were fought.70.82.109.203 (talk) 03:47, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know if there's a standard format for such decade articles or not. If there is, this article could just be following the format... AnonMoos (talk) 03:52, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Infobox image
editI think it is excessive the amount of images about the Spanish-American war. I suggest remove 2 of those images (keeping the "Maine") and replaced by the Fashoda incident and the unequal treaty or the First Sino-Japanese War. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.109.110.105 (talk) 15:03, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
There is an American bias in the collage. 5 out of the 8 images reference the U.S. 1880s has a similar but less extensive problem. Lochglasgowstrathyre (talk) 18:31, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- It’s pretty insane that all of the images are US-related. The United States is not the only country. --IWI (talk) 01:19, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- And 8 out of 8 images have something major to do with the US. Its not even just US-European centric at this point, like it sometimes is. I don't think anything will be done to change this. Danial Bass (talk) 22:13, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
And it's not just the image collage: the article lead is entirely about the US. --Blurryman (talk) 23:19, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Done I've replaced the images.

top image shows only american events
editCan we get a more representative series of pictures from around the world? 90.155.34.28 (talk) 13:54, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes! I agree 222.152.255.47 (talk) 05:37, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- Done 222.152.255.47 (talk) 06:10, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- The Second Boer War only have 3 months in the 1890s, while the remaining 2 years and 4 months took place in the 1900s. It should be included in the collage of the 1900s. I think that section should be replaced with the First Sino-Japanese War. Nagae Iku (talk) 19:23, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
Collage discussion
editI created two versions of a collage, replacing the Second Boer War which primarily took place in the 1900s with the First Sino-Japanese War that occurred in 1894.. In version 3.0, I added the Benz Velo because I think it is significant as the first standardized mass-produced car model. Did everyguys have any other opinions or suggestions about the collage? Nagae Iku (talk) 21:17, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- Seems fair. Koopinator (talk) 06:11, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Welsh event in US Economics section
editThe subject. In the "Economics in the United States" section, there is a summary of the 1898 Welsh coal strike lumped in with all of the other United States labor strikes + other various events. Should this be moved into the "Prominent political events" section or just outright removed? 71.202.216.149 (talk) 02:24, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
