editI'm a little confused with the title. There's only one mention of Pinar del Rio during the article, and that's mentioning some minor damage. Perhaps it should be moved to 1917 Florida Panhandle hurricane. As for improving the article, it'd be nice if there was another image. I'd like if the U.S. impact was organized better. It varies amongst four different states, and it got a little confusing when you didn't put the state's name after the city while wikilinking. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:20, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey there George, I'll be reviewing this article. Comments to follow soon. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 15:37, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
- Lede
- I went ahead and condensed the lede for you. The storm summary portion was previously about as long as the meteorological history, which really didn't make it much of a summary :P
- Meteorological history
- West-northwest motion should be mentioned

Upon entering the Caribbean Sea on September 21, the system intensified quicker, becoming a Category 1 hurricane on the modern day Saffir–Simpson hurricane wind scale several hours later.
— "several hours later" doesn't reference a specific time to be of any use to readers. Track also shows it became a hurricane about 18-24 hours after entering the Caribbean, which is longer than just "several" hours.
- Better?--12george1 (talk) 21:16, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
- The turn northwest after clearing Jamaica should be mentioned (this would also remove the need to mention its motion immediately after clearing Cuba in paragraph 2)
- Done--12george1 (talk) 21:16, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
- Shortly after becoming a major hurricane, the storm passed over Cayman Brac. This should be noted somewhere.

- The storm skirting the northern coast of Isla de la Juventud at its peak should be mentioned

- Caribbean
- This section could use some decent expansion, please use the following links to add information to the article:
- The Indianapolis News, September 25
- The Pantagraph, September 25 – 9 people killed in Jamaica
- The Topeka Daily Capital, September 29 - ships sunk near Cuba
- Chicago Daily Tribune, September 30 - food supply destroyed on Isla de la Juventud
- La Plata Republican, October 5 - at least believed 20 killed (Cuba)
- The Kingston Daily Freeman, October 5 - Local account of the storm, might be something useful here
- The Salina Evening Journal, October 6 - hundreds reported dead in Cuba
- The Kingston Daily Freeman, October 10 - might be something useful here
- I added the info from all except The Indianapolis News, Chicago Daily Tribune, The Kingston Daily Freeman (October 10). I'm not sure what you want me to add from The Indianapolis News. For the Chicago Daily Tribune, I found that info from another source already used. The Kingston Daily Freeman (October 10) doesn't really have anything worth adding, imo.--12george1 (talk) 18:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- United States
- Please double-check newspapers.com for relevant information in the United States. I'm pretty sure I saw a decent amount of information for the US while I was searching for Caribbean information. Remember to vary search terms (i.e. hurricane, storm, cyclone) since reports are not always consistent.
- I found more info for the United States and added it.--12george1 (talk) 18:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Overall a fairly good article but needs a bit of expansion before I can pass it. I'm placing it on hold to allow you time to do so. ~ Cyclonebiskit (chat) 17:00, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
