This article was originally translated from the German article and subsequently copy edited for grammar and spelling by myself and a few other editors on the English wiki in a temporary workspace. The article was a bit badly phrased in sections. I tried to reword a few bits of it so they were a bit less awkward. 72.250.182.68 (talk) 04:15, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Relationship of the two Bruces?
editThis article has Geoffrey being Charles' cousin, while the article on Charles himself has Geoffrey being his nephew. Which is correct? CFLeon (talk) 18:26, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- Cousin.[1] Thincat (talk) 19:02, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- I've corrected the article Charles Granville Bruce which had had "cousin" changed to "nephew" back in 2012 by an IP's only edit.[2] Geoffrey Bruce was 30 years younger, a bit of a large age difference for cousins. My WP:OR strongly suggests the two men's fathers (Henry Austin Bruce son of John Bruce formerly John Knight; and Gerald Trevor Knight-Bruce son of Lewis Knight-Bruce) were not brothers so maybe "cousin" does not imply first cousin.
