Background

edit
  • "persuaded the Billiards Association and Control Council" - the acronym of the BACC needs to be put in brackets and placed after the full name
  • "Davis also won the title in 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932 and 1933." - how about Davis went on to win the title every year since 1928 instead?
  • "it was announced that preliminary heats and the semi-finals" - the preliminary heats and semi-finals
  • "(equivalent to £375 in 2019)" - equivalent to how much in 2021?
  • "a five-guineas sidestake" - the hyphen in bold is not needed
  • All done, except the "equivalent to £375" point. I've used Template:Inflation which only goes to 2019 - let me know if this should be changed to a static "equivalent to x in 2021" Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 23:58, 1 July 2021 (UTC) (Also, in terms of titles, I put "Davis went on to win the title every year since 1928 to 1933." - as we know, he won more later so let me know if any amendments needed there.)Reply

Summary

edit
  • "Only two players entered, Joe Davis and Tom Newman and so only the final was played." - Newman, and thus just the final was contested.
  • "The match was scheduled from Monday 2 April to Friday 6 April" - don't think the day names are necessary
  • "The first three days were held at The Lounge, Shakespeare Street, Nottingham with the final two days being at the Central Hall," - being played at
  • Wikilink the term break to the appropriate article for non-snooker readers
  • "and then took the first two in the evening to take the lead 14–13." - there's a word missing from this sentence
  • "Newman, however, took the last three in the afternoon" - same issue as above

References

edit
  • The References that came from the British Newspaper Archive are all missing page numbers I think?

Am putting the review on hold to allow the nominator to address or query each of the points raised above MWright96 (talk) 17:45, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
