Copyright Infringement
editThis article was created by an anonymous, unregistered user who seemed to copy most of the content verbatim, including the organization of the information, from the pages of this web site. Based on the United States Supreme Court case Feist Publications v. Rural Telephone Service (i.e. copyright can only apply to the creative aspects of collection: the creative choice of what data to include or exclude, the order and style in which the information is presented, etc., but not on the information itself), I have listed this page on Wikipedia:Copyright problems and created new content on the temp subpage. A prudent move. I have requested permission to use the material from the webmaster. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.49.186.132 (talk • contribs)
- I sent an email to the webmaster at Friday, October 28, 2005 9:45 (UTC) in order to verify, in writing, that he does release that material under the GFDL license. I have not yet gotten a reply back. But he has 7 days to get back to me. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 15:20, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Title of page
editIt should be the 1958 NFL Championship Game to be consistient with other pages plus people will of course disagree of the "greatest game ever" tag 15:32, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
- The appellation "Greatest Game Ever Played" is the nickname widely given to this game by football fans everywhere--not simply one editor's subjective evaluation. Kurt Weber 05:05, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is consistent. See The Sneakers Game and The Ice Bowl, among others. And, disagreement or not, this is what the game is known as for anyone who has followed pro football for any length of time. You can call me Al 13:48, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
actually the sneaker game reverts to NFL Championship Game, 1934 plus we seem to be slowly creating pages for each year from 33 to 69 of either championsip game or playoffs so the overall trend would be NFL Championship Game, 19?? with this and the ice bowl being the exceptions to the rule Smith03 16:00, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
Seems you have stumbled on the dilemma I have been facing on this issue. It was quite easy to create articles for the 1967 seasons onward because the league had a multi-team playoff tournament. But the problem I have in dealing with 1965, 1958, and a few other seasons is that an extra playoff game had to be held to break a tie in the division standings. Thus, the question I have is: should I put both that extra playoff game and and championship game in one article or two.
Of course, it was easy when another user started NFL playoffs, 1965. But 1958 is special because not only is the championship game has historical significance, and thus should have its own seperate article like the Ice Bowl, but an extra playoff game was held during that year too: The Giants defeated the Browns 10-0 to break the tie in Eastern Conference. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 18:12, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
So for years 1941, 43, 47 50 52 57 58 and 65 would be NFL playoffs, 19XX you could still have a separate page for 58 and 67 champions games for example NFL playoffs, 1958 and NFL Championship Game, 1958. I just think the pages should be titled as the championsip game not greatest game or ice bowl. of course the fact those games are known as GGAP and IB should be put in the article but I think the article title should just the same as other games are set up.Smith03 19:42, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
So I move that the page is moved to NFL Championship Game, 1958 Smith03 00:42, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Why the quotes?
editWhy is the word "Colts" in single quotes, and italicized, at the top of the infobox? --Jfruh (talk) 23:05, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
How did the Colts get the ball back with 2 minutes?
editI see it is mentioned in the Documentary section, but its not mentioned anywhere else in the article. I think it at least deserves some note in the Game summary section. That was a huge turning point in the game, and had the Giants gotten that first down they very well might have run out the clock and won the game. I am not saying it needs a full blown sub section, but I think there should be at least a mention of it in that portion of the article. Thoughts? Daniel J Simanek (talk) 06:30, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
