• Saw this from the 1979 Gillete Cup Final GA: consider changing "which had been the first domestic tournament to pit first-class cricket sides against each other in a knock-out competition" to the first English domestic knock-out competition between first-class sides

• "If Kent won, it would their first competition win since the 1928 County Championship" - change win to victory to avoid reptition

Route to the final

• Be consistent in how you present scores, as in the first score for Kent, you use 239 for eight, while the rest bar one are written as "251 for 9" for example.
• Perhaps inclement weather would be a better substitute for bad weather
