1972 Illinois Central Gulf commuter rail crash
editThere is an error in the subject article. The article states "Since Illinois Central Gulf trains were painted dark green at the time, the engineer of the express train did not see the bilevel train backing up until it was too late." The express train was painted dark green, as was all of the old single-level trains at that time. However, all the bilevel trains were, and still are, silver. So unless the engineer of the express train saw the reflection of his train in the rear of the bilevel train, the statement that the engineer did not see the bilevel train backing up because it was painted dark green is an incorrect statement.
I was an Illinois Central Gulf commuter at the time of this accident and was on the first train to arrive at the scene after the accident. Unfortunately, it is something I'll never be able to forget. 70.178.126.20 (talk) 02:34, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Article Naming: February 2009
editThis page was recently renamed by someone who has been permanently banned; he was mistaken about naming conventions. Please see the naming convention for disasters, that states that all articles concerning individual disasters should be <<year>> <<place>> <<event>>. Also, it is recommended that discussion & consensus should occur before any pages are moved. I'll move this back if there is no objection. Highspeed (talk) 05:21, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
