Opening comment
editTonight, on an episode of I've Got A Secret, from 1972, Amarillo Slim was a guest (his secret was that he'd lost 190k in a poker game). He also mentioned just having won $60,000 by winning first place in the 8-person WSOP (originally there were supposed to be 12 players, but only 8 agreed to goto the finals after playing a lengthly session just prior (he himself played 2 days and nights with 6 horus rest in between). Either way, I suppose he could be mistaken, but I'd think he'd know how much the prize was - though it conflicts with this article's prize of $80k. Hope this helps someone with this article. BLP violation
editI removed the setences about the match being thrown because it was uncited. If true, then it needs a citation, otherwise it is a BLP violation. If it isn't true: Would you want to have an award you won tarnished by the claim that your competition threw the tournament? Would you want to be one of the pople accused of throwing the tournament? Would you want to be the person who was attributed to saying others threw the tournament?---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 18:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Dates of the two tournaments
editHello! If anyone has a reliable source or sources regarding the dates of these two tournaments, it would be appreciated. I am finding conflicting information regarding what has been found publicly. Red Director (talk) 00:55, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
