Talk:1975 Dibbles Bridge coach crash

Location

edit

The accident occurred in the civil parish of Hartlington, rather than in Appletreewick as claimed in the article, as the boundary runs along the river and the coach went through the parapet and landed in the garden on the west side. The cited 'boundary map' purporting to support the location of the parish boundary in the article is a small scale sketch map, and shows the folly of accepting sources without question. The true parish boundary appears on the local 1:25,000 OS maps. Langcliffe (talk) 14:44, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have now corrected the article, and referenced an online OS map showing the parish boundary.Langcliffe (talk) 10:45, 31 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Owners

edit

The "owners" mentioned might be the owners of a house nearby or the owners of the bus company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.101.114 (talk) 13:15, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Clarified, and ensured that the Lincoln Seligman link pointed to the right person. Martin of Sheffield (talk) 13:55, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Bridge name

edit

Is it Dibbles Bridge or Dibble's Bridge? Both are used in the article. 204.116.251.194 (talk) 09:23, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Good question, but as we need some consistency I have changed it to "Dibble's" which is the OS spelling. Langcliffe (talk) 09:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I take it the article name requires a process to change? 152.44.25.143 (talk) 11:23, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
