Partial title matches on this dab page
editThis is the current content of this dab page:
- 1979–1983 may mean:
- The period in years 1979 to 1983
- Conservative Government 1979-1983, the time period 1979-1983 in Britain
- 1979-1983 Eastern Australian drought, the time period 1979-1983 in Australia
- Music albums
- Peel Sessions 1979–1983, the Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark album
- The Third Unheard: Connecticut Hip Hop 1979–1983, Stones Throw Records album
- Let It Play: Selected Pieces 1979–1983, Peter Michael Hamel album
- Bauhaus 1979–1983, a compilation album released by Beggars Banquet Records of songs by the British band Bauhaus
All but the last one are partial title matches and should not be listed here. See Wikipedia:D#Partial_title_matches. That leaves only the last one, which means this should be a redirect. If it's a redirect, why was the article moved from this title? User:Anthony Appleyard? --В²C ☎ 15:27, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- The term “1979–1983” clearly indicates a period of time, so I say the two articles referring to events that span those years are absolutely appropriate here. As for the other albums listed, I’m not familiar with any of them and have never heard the artists or their work be discussed (including Bauhaus), so I wouldn’t know if anyone refers to those by the same term or not. However, since no one else seems to have a problem with their presence here, I assume they’re here with consensus. —174.141.182.82 (talk) 03:49, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
- For the record, whether the articles refer to events that span those years is irrelevant to the question of whether they belong listed on a dab page titled by that range of years. As far as I know, we don't do that for events that span any other range of years, so it's pretty strange to do it for this one just because we have an article on WP named with that particular range of years. Anyway, the issue is now moot as the proper decision to change this to a redirect has been made. --В²C ☎ 00:16, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
