User:Spleodrach, please explain why are you so keen on removing any and all mention of the idea that European Parliamentary elections pre-Brexit weren't used as proxy elections for revolutionary Dáils by abstentionists, despite the fact they were held in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland simultaneously. The source I cited clearly states that Sinn Fein decided to no contest the 1979 European Parliament elections (p. 239), that it later contested the 1984 European Parliament election on a non-abstentionist basis (p. 240), and that contesting European elections eventually led to Sinn Fein abandoning abstentionism (p. 239). Also, "the 1979 European Parliament election was the first 32-county election to be held in Ireland since 1921", "all European Parliament elections before Brexit were 32-county elections", "Irish republican legitimists do not consider the pre-Brexit European Parliament elections to have elected TDs of revolutionary Dáils.", and even that "32-county elections are a convenient opportunity to elect TDs to a revolutionary Dáil", are all verifiable statements per WP:NOR.
