"It tracked to the southwest, and the JTWC (JTWC) estimated peak 1 minute sustained" - Why is JTWC in parenthesis here? You already explained what it is earlier.
"On December 19, the system intensified to moderate tropical storm status, prompting the Mauritius Meteorological Service to name it Bakoly. " Maybe you should say "Later that day" or something like that, because the previous sentence has the exact same beginning.
"MFR began tracking a tropical disturbance in the Mozambique channel near Juan de Nova Island." - I'm just noticing that you use the phrase "Mozambique channel" 4 times in the article. Two of them have a capital "C" in "channel", while the other have half a lower case "c". I don't really care which way you have it, but make sure all four either have a capital or lower case "C".
