  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Generally speaking, this is good and comprehensive. I was bold and made some minor changes myself. Apart from those there are only minor things I'd like to have addressed:

  • Major aspects hold tag: Not quite major but noteworthy ... Stage five is missing from the race overview. Considering it was won by LeMond, one of the major figures in cycling in the period, I as a reader had a strong interest in learning something about the circumstances of it.
I left it out cause there were no GC shake ups, but I added a sentence or two. Disc Wheel (Talk + Tontributions)
  • Prose hold tag: I feel that it is debatable if the last paragraph of the race overview is necessary. I might even say it falls under unnecessary detail considering you can get all that information from the table above without having to read the paragraph with the many parantheses (which is kind of hard to read).
I think it's necessary, it gives a holistic view of the stage winners through their teams and lets you see how well the teams did and the riders within each team and whatnot. Disc Wheel (Talk + Tontributions) 15:53, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • I put a hold tag on appropriate use of images because I feel the two rider pictures should have captions stating when the pictures where taken (especially that they were not taken at the '86 Giro).
Fixed. Disc Wheel (Talk + Tontributions) 15:53, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Very minor things:
  • Visentini is not mentioned in the pre-race favorites section. Considering he already finished second once and was apparently a favorite in '85, I feel that a source should be found naming him as well.
I checked the El Mundo and l'Unita sources that talk of the favorites and neither mention him. I also checked to see if La Stampa or El Pais had articles that talked of the favorites and neither did, which I am very surprised La Stampa didn't cause normally they do. • Is there a particular reason why the prologue was so short? Do you have any sources on that? I find it curious.
Honestly, couldn't find anything on that when I was looking over the route articles. Disc Wheel (Talk + Tontributions) 15:53, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment Obviously there is a lack of images from the race itself. But I will not hold that against you, since it appears there are none to be found we can use. For a future FA nomination, maybe you can try getting some of the licences changed on the flickr images?
That would be the goal, I did that for the 1988 edition, if I choose to take this one to the FA level. Disc Wheel (Talk + Tontributions) 15:53, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Overall, well done and thank you for writing articles on the Giro. Will you turn to the Vueltas as well? I feel that many of those articles are in very bad shape. Please get back to me on my notes and I am sure we can get you that GA tag in no time :) Cheers, Zwerg Nase (talk) 19:37, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I finally finished adding the stage tables to all the Giro articles and that took a lot out of me, so probably after these my two GANs go through I'll be taking a hiatus for a while. The Vueltas are in bad shape, but my main concern are the Giro articles - If you want to start work on some of those I could help you out with where to get info and whatnot. Thanks for the review! A well deserved hiatus it would be. I have a few projects myself for the Formula One WikiProject, so if I might do the Vueltas it will be a while down the road. Concerning the article: Even though I might disagree on the last race report paragraph, I will naturally pass the article for GA. It's not the first time that I disagree on articles being too detailed and usually the Wiki community does not side with me ;) Just one last thing: If the eventual race winner was not mentioned as a favorite, maybe that is worth mentioning?
