editThe results given for the "Gold Medal Game" are wrong, in fact there wasn't a gold medal game played at all. The gold medal was awarded after the 4 teams in the "finals" all played each other. Sweden played 3-3 against Chechoslovakia, 2-2 against The Soviet Union and 9-0 against Canada to claim the gold, they actually became "champions in suits" since they had to have the Soviet Union beat Chechoslovakia (game ended 2-1 after 2 Soviet scores in the final period) in the final game of the tournament.
Another interesting tidbit is that Sweden came very close to missing the playoffs since West Germany had used a player that had previously played a game for Poland in the junior world championships (Miroslav Sikora), the dispute was settled in court. 192.36.117.138 (talk) 14:29, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
