turnout
editthe lower 4% turnout is a mistype in the source, i know this is orignal work but if the 1987 turnout is 73% with 2.2 mil. voters, the 1990/91 turnout is around 50% with 1.6 mil. the 1988 1 mil. of voters is not lower of 4% but lower of 40% — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.19.209.216 (talk) 20:27, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- So, I did initially think you were probably correct, as the IDEA confirm that turnout was only 36% of the voter age population, which makes 40% make sense.
- However, there are also many sources that refer to turnout being extremely low, such as this.
- Based on this, the answer appears to be that the 'official' result figures were inflated and it was estimated by observers that the real turnout was the very low one. I will update the article to reflect this. Cheers, Number 57 21:47, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
