@Hurricanehink: Great article. A couple notes below for you.
Well-written:
- The article provides some great info and is inline with style overall.
- Thanks!! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm having a hard time clearly understanding the line "...underwent a Fujiwhara interaction, in which the storms affected their motions." Can you make a slight adjustment? Other terms that would benifit from a clarifying line in addition to a wikilink are monsoon trough, ridge, and anticyclone.
- I believe I clarified the bit about Fujiwhara, monsoon, ridge, and anticyclone. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- The idea of "official" vs "unofficial" come up often:
- Would "Storms were officially tracked by the Météo-France office (MFR) on Réunion
as well as thewhile the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) tracked storms in an unofficial basis." or something along those lines be clearer?
- Love your suggestion. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- I believe you can reduce the frequency in the lead by one at: "although the JTWC
unofficiallyconsidered Alibera to be stronger" (we already know that JWTC is not official)
- Good point, as the "Although" already implies a negation. Thanks! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Would "Storms were officially tracked by the Météo-France office (MFR) on Réunion
- Also, can you clarify use of "unofficial" in the infobox? They are in addition to, correct? No action needed if that is the preferred standard across the project
- Yes, that's how we generally do it with JTWC and other unofficial agencies. These are in addition to the numbers provided by the official agency. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- It would be useful to lay out the size or even the boundaries of the area in the lead or body. The map is a good resource but this would be especially useful to test readers.
- I'm not sure I understand. Leads of season articles are usually two paragraphs long, except for particularly notable seasons where there may be more. Is that what you mean? In addition, the maps are always the same size. Its main purpose is to show where on earth the action happened, not necessarily all of the individual data points, as you can click on it for more detail, or see the individual data points later in the article. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Oh I meant something like: "The basin is x square kilometers" or "it is x/x the size of the Indian Oean"Cptnono (talk) 18:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Alibera killed people while Ikonjo was the only storm to have a significant impact land. Can you clarify?
- Eek, forgot to put in "also" had an impact on land. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- I ran the dash script and it caught only a few. I noticed that other wikignome activities (nonbreaking spaces and the like) were taken care of. (no action needed). Nice work.Cptnono (talk) 00:02, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sweet! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
Verifiable with no original research:
- Reference 12 is a dead link
- Fixed. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- There is an error related to chapters in some of the reference list's templates.
- Fixed. I could've sworn there used to be a chapter field in cite web. Oh well. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- The summaries of each storm are nicely written. No signs of plagiarism or misuse of sourcing.(no action needed)
Broad in its coverage:
- Good.
Neutral:
- Good
Stable
- Good
Illustrated, if possible, by images:[8]
- Alt text would be nice but is not mandatory.(no action needed)
- A caption underneath the scale graph might be helpful.(I'll leave that up to you)
- Most timelines don't, but I'm not sure why, so I'll ask around if we should start implementing that. Thanks for noticing that. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Is a tracking image not available for Hanta?
- I asked our main track guy (User:Cyclonebiskit), so I'll put it in if he makes one. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Is a commons category available?
- Added! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the review! I'm sure it can't be that interesting reading about tropical cyclones affecting Africa nearly 25 years ago, but it's part of the historical coverage of the basin. Hope all is well now :) ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Great and useful article. Nice work!Cptnono (talk) 19:50, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
