Direct Democracy source

edit

Just in case there are any concerns about the Direct Democracy source (as it appears to be a circular reference back to Wikipedia); the editor of that site does not use Wikipedia as a source – they just add links to the relevant Wikipedia article if they exist (as we have corresponded in the past, the editor occasionally emails me when they have listed a new one to suggest I create a Wikipedia article so they can link to it). In this specific case, you can see from the internet archive that the figures in the source were there before the Wikipedia link was added.

DD is a reliable source and regularly cited by academics, e.g. [1][2][3][4] Cheers, Number 57 00:12, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ok - I was mistaken. But that they source the information from Nohlen et al, what is the point of citing them? TrangaBellam (talk) 05:01, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Because some information in the results table (votes against in the independence referendum and the number of registered voters) is not in Nohlen et al., but is on the DD website. DD lists two sources, Nohlen et al. and Peters – I assume the latter is where the additional info is from. Cheers, Number 57 09:18, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
